What does success look like? Is it measured by our possessions? or by how my how much money we have? Is it the type of house we live in? The car we drive or even our status in society? Many of us may have been conditioned to think of success in these ways. But could success be about individual expectations of oneself rather than societal norms. Would it be fair to say someone is successful if they make it to a destination where they have not been before? Or an individual made a plan and managed to stick to it? These may not have any monetary value or improve in one's status in society; but the person who achieved these may feel successful. Success should be based on what individuals set for or require of themselves. Who better to measure personal success than the person who knows what they are trying to achieve. When others tell us what that success looks like, we may then begin to feel that we have failed as our picture doesn't match with theirs. Don’t live a life based on what others may think. Learn to appreciate what you have achieved so far and you will begin to recognise how successful you really are, and how much more successful you can be.
